What does inspired mean to you? What are we inspired to be? What are we inspired to accomplish in life? Who has been our greatest inspiration in life? These are questions to carefully ponder in our minds. We have no problem with using words; but, do we ever think of the true meaning of the words we use? When I think of this magazine and what is trying to accomplish and think of the word inspired and realize that the purpose of this magazine is to: motivate; stir; encourage; move; arouse or instigate something within us. Then we must think of what causes this stirring in us and who was the greatest inspiration in our lives to cause this motivation. What were the memories in our lives, all the way back from our childhood that caused us to feel the way we do about things? To react the way we do about different trials and circumstances in our lives; that makes us what we are today. Who were the people who pushed us to our potential in life? By Verona H. Lawson
What trials of life, pain and suffering have you gone through that will push you to a place where you will say, Ive got to do better and have better than what Ive gone through and had in the past. What mountains have you had to climb in life that will make you reach your destiny? We can have flashbacks of our childhood and things that may not have been pleasant, but realizing these are some of the things that make us or break us. These are the situations and circumstances, the trials of life that make us who we are, what we are and create the values that we have. Some may have came up with very little, but knew how to appreciate what they had and placed a special value on everything received while others came up with silver spoons in their mouths with everything given and handed to them without learning the true value of anything or knowing how to appreciate something that you had to work very hard to acquire. My inspiration was a great aunt who raised me and loved me as her own; who taught me values and instilled so much into my life. She encouraged me, she prayed for and with me, she taught me to treat others as I wanted to be treated. She taught me not to be a coward but stand up for what was right, but to have enough humility to admit when I was wrong. She was a Proverbs 31 woman, a woman of wisdom and virtue. She was a person who taught me to love those who didnt necessarily feel the same way about me. My inspiration was also a great uncle who loved me as his own, who showed me what it was to have a real daddy that protected his child and defended and guided his child in the admonition of the Lord. You see he was more than a father, a father is a donor to your creation a daddy is someone who is there for you; a daddy who made sure that all of my needs were met, and even a few of my wants were supplied; a daddy who when I fell off my bike or had an injury was always there with a comforting word or a hug and to let me know everything was going to be alright. A daddy who loved me and let me know how I was supposed to be treated and treated me as his princess; a daddy who chastised me when I was wrong and who I never wanted to do any wrong before him, because I was a daddys girl. Teaching me a lesson that God wants us all to know, how unconditional is love is for us and how he is always there for us and he is our provider and our defense in the time of trouble.
When I think about the things that God has brought me through in life, and covered me, yes, even when I was wrong and didnt love myself, Jesus loved me. It makes me think about when David asked God, what is man that thou are mindful of him (Psalm 8:4)? Knowing that Gods love for us is greater than the love we have for ourselves. Regardless of mistakes that we have made in our lives; some things that even man wont forgive, but knowing that we serve a God who is so loving and forgiving that he washes our sins in the sea of forgetfulness. When we find it difficult to forgive ourselves for past mistakes, wrong choices and bad decisions; and we hold ourselves back or we hold ourselves down and we end up being our own worst enemy and still try to blame others for our failures in life. A thirst, a hunger, that we have for a better life or to achieve something great in life before leaving this world. What is it that gives us this drive, this motivation to be all that we can be; to make a difference in others lives? Ill tell you what it is. Although we have had people who have made great impressions in our lives, they have helped to mold us and make us what we are or hope to be. They have been there for us in the crossroads of our lives when we didnt know what to do or who to turn to. But it is our relationship with God that truly inspires us and pushes us and motivates us to be that God ordained man, that God ordained woman, that God ordained teen or child that is being called for in this last day. We are truly living in the last of the last days and God has called us all to kingdom building and if we are sitting idle instead of doing those things that He is calling us to there is an unrest and a aggravation, a silent frustration within us with ourselves because we know we arent living up to our potential. Its time for us to come out of the box and go to new dimension in kingdom building; always remembering, the kingdom of heaven suffers violence and the violent take it by force (St. Matthew 11:12). We must ponder in our minds if we are doing all that the Lord has called us to do or assigned to our hands to do. We must ask ourselves the question, what have I done for God lately? Who have I encouraged? Who have I given a glimmer of hope through the word of God? Who have I gone out of my way to present Christ to? Who have I stopped by the side of the road to help or assist like the Good Samaritan? When we think on these questions and on our answers we will then know what inspires us, who inspires us and what our great aspirations are. Thinking on 2 Timothy 3:16-17 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped of every good work. My question to you today is - are you inspired? ©
